zeit fliegt! - time is flying!

well, it's march, mid-march, and i still can't figure out what happened to february. according to my blog post dates there was no february. but a lot has happened since january so...

here's the update:

1. i applied to, and was accepted by, the developmental teacher education program at UC berkeley. i am really honored to have been chosen since they only accept a small percentage of their applicants. luckily they were looking for people with teaching experience and an arts background so it was a perfect match. at least it seems to be. so this fall, finances and living arrangements allowing, i will start on the road to being a master of education!

2. i quit my job! i finish teaching this semester's classes the first week of april. i'll miss my students, but i won't miss the lack of support and general disorganization i've dealt with for too long.

3. my german is getting better, rather, back in shape, since i started taking a german class on tuesdays. my teacher is a woman who sings in my choir who was sure that i would be fine in the advanced class. unfortunately, she was wrong. i usually spend the class trying to match my facial expression to the other four people in my class so it isn't painfully obvious that i'm lost. but now that i am back in class i will be reviving the word of the day post titles - so there's that.

4. mom came to visit and we decided to take a road trip around the bay. 20 minutes into our mini-vacation i got the first speeding ticket of my life. (it's probably about time i got a ticket, i've always had a bit of a lead foot. note to self: if it appears as though a cop would like to get around traffic do not speed up to let him pass. slowing down would be the better choice.) then an hour after getting the ticket we were almost crushed by a tanker truck carreening around a hair pin turn on hwy 1. we were pretty glad to get out of the car that night in petaluma. the next day we treated ourselves to a 10am wine tasting in napa, but, don't worry, we didn't drink enough to make driving a harrowing experience once again.

all written out like this it's hard to believe that these few things could have made a whole month fly by, but they did. perhaps if i blogged more often it would seem like my life were a little more exciting - you know, lots of little interesting things... or not.
