bouncy boy

two of a kind

day 5 - that kid is made of rubber!

every morning my grandfather and coco play a round of tennis. well, grandfather hits the ball with a racket, and coco returns it with her slobbery mouth. on the morning of day 5 dan and i accompanied grandfather and coco on their daily tennis excursion. we sat, she ran, we met a husky and a portugese water dog.

when coco was all tuckered out grandfather took us over to the windmill in the park. he used to be a docent there but they didn't have enough people to man the windmill so it's now closed to the public. a friendly and inquisitive set of grandparents with really bored looking grandchildren stopped to listen to grandfather's story and take the requisite picture-o-kids-in-front-of-given-item-of-interest.

unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and after lunch dan and i had to hit the road. we were off to western massachusettes and on our way to webs, a yarn mill and store in northampton. if weaving were a religion, this place is the holy land. i believe the door chime is actually a choir of angels. they even sell scandinavian countermarch looms. i bought some silk and yarn made of bamboo. dan bought a replacement warping tool that he had ruined using it as a screwdriver. it was awesome.

after webs we were headed to our final destination - the home of our friends todd and jenny and their almost 2 year old, ben. we had a great time reminiscing and getting to know ben. he is a child without fear. he ran into the coffee table and bounced off. he fell off of the chair and smacked his head on the wall. he laughed. apparently he's just like todd was at that age.

the next morning we had just enough time to hit the springfield zoo and friendly's before getting to the airport for our flight home. we had a really fun vacation and we were sad to have to face real life again.
