die Auskunft - information
the english television channels we have are:
1. CNN world report
2. BBC World
3. MTV - sadly, i have now seen all of MTV germany's programming
so, i have been more up on my current events than i would be in the US (where i enjoy every moment that oprah sucks the life out of me). i'm not sure how much information y'all without the BBC world are hearing about the danish cartoons but it is all the rage (hee hee) here. personally i think things have gone a *bit* too far. so today i went to the grocery store and bought some danish cheese. it's not going to help support freedom of speech all that much, but it was my own tiny statement.
later i told dan over instant message that i bought danish cheese and we discussed the boycotts. what - you thought dan was actually working here? just kidding. but being the librarian he is, dan did find time to research the matter. this is what i got back 40 seconds after asking about the major exports for denmark:
it's nice to have your own personal font of information.

Nerd. Just kidding...it takes one to know one. Being an employee of the Danish consul in Indianapolis (okay so I just work in the same law firm as the guy who is the Danish consul in Indianapolis...but we have a picture of the king and queen on the wall and the seal of Denmark or whatever it is...that counts, right?) I probably should have known that...but now I'll just piggy-back on Dan's research skills and spout this tid-bit of info in an attempt to make everything that I am a dutiful Danish consul employee (or whatever) ;)
