the best

clinics and hospitals...

one of the perks of living in the bay area is that we are close to several of the countries best medical institutions. today i was back at the stanford hospital where they have a celiac clinic.

upon my return from germany my celiac doctor (who also has celiac) ordered a full panel of blood tests and and endoscopy to see what the gluten challenge did to my insides. the blood test results showed no celiac and i didn't feel any worse on gluten than i did off. so her diagnosis was "you don't have celiac". three hours later i got a call from her saying that another test she had just gotten the results for indicated that i was off the charts positive for celiac. i had to do the endoscopy.

enduring a 3rd endoscopy is not my idea of a fun day. once again i woke up in the middle of it. i'll spare you the details. as i was being discharged i was handed a piece of paper saying everything looked normal but that i probably have celiac disease.

so my question is: if i can't get a straight answer at stanford celiac clinic - where can i? there's only one option left - dr. house.
