jahr in review
as my first year of grad school comes to a close and the summer gets off to a roaring start i thought i would face my computer again and offer a review of what's been going on since last i blogged. in short, school kicked my butt but i learned a lot and enjoyed my classes and getting to know my new classmates. i picked up spanish again (poorly), taught in three disparate socioeconomic systems, and got an apartment to keep me off of the highway all the time.
i could go on, but all this is more interesting with visual aids:
i turned 31. it was a small but fun party.
i marveled at the views from my first teaching placement.
i drove, and drove and drove... (picture staged - don't worry)
we saw old friends...
and more old friends...
and even more!
and made some new ones.
lots of new ones...
even more...
and still more!
i learned a lot - about many subjects, science is just one.
went to heaven(ly).
then indulged in the deadly sin of gluttony (this is the least indulgent picture of brian i have from that weekend...)
of course we had our holiday trips ("we gather(ed) together")
and hung the banana - alex's favorite ornament - hee hee.
and now we're leaving california in search of our next big adventure...
i could go on, but all this is more interesting with visual aids:
dan and i are going to SE asia - but don't this time it's for 1 month, not 6 like germany. this blog has been all over the world! please check back in with us as we navigate this new land and jordan's hair fights the humidity.
