die Strassereise - road trip

schwerin is a town located about an hour and a half northwest of berlin in mecklenberg. today we went to see schwerin schloss (castle or palace) on the recommendation of one of sara's coworkers. it was quite impressive, and much cozier than the last schloss we visited.

dan, however, is aparently unimpressed by palaces and the like. as some of you know, a bored dan is often a funny and talkative dan, and this was one of those times. sara and i were treated to a running commentary on the schloss and it's grounds by dan, who's use of the word schloss became more frequent as the day went on. he decided that "schloss" is like "smurf" and can be used as a noun, verb, adjective, whatever you need. some notable late-in-the-day quotes:

"when we buy a house, let's make sure it's not so schlossy."

"if i've schlossed you once, i've schlossed you a thousand times!"

"i got your schloss right here..."

and upon finding the schloss's grotto (we all know of one famous magazine-related grotto):
"i found six copies of Schloss under your matress!"

our day was entertaining and schlosstastic.

sara and i are off to prague for a few days sans computer. i am guessing there will be ample blog material when we return on wednesday night. so loyal readers (mom, dan's mom) please be patient and check back on thursday.

auf wiederhören!
