das Haar - hair

dan has found a place here that gives him the perfect haircut. it's called "city cut" but that's all the english you'll hear or see in that place. turns out, the less talking about his hair he does, the better the haircut. i'm no great help, since don't know any vocab about hair, so dan takes the matter into his own hands - literally. he points at his head and says "zwei" to indicate that he wants the razor set to number 2 length. then he points to the top of his head and makes his fingers about an inch apart. then he just sits there. he's been 3 times, with different stylists, and each time he does the same thing. 10 minutes and 9 euros later he's done and happy with his hair.

after countless bad hair encounters with the chatty great clips and supercuts stylists in the states, i think dan may have finally discovered the secret to getting what he wants. silence. just another learning experience courtesy of the language barrier.
